Northampton Town receives Family Excellence Award
Wed 9th Feb 2011 | Football Stadiums & Facilities
Northampton Town Football Club has been awarded with the Football League Family Excellence Award for 2010-11.
The award is given to clubs following two separate genuine 'mystery shopper' family visits to the stadium (one as home supporters and one as visiting supporters). It also takes into account of commitment to fair pricing for young people and work in relation to the Enjoy The Match Campaign. As it is a genuine visit from a real family, whose children are coming to live football for the first time, and is the ultimate family accolade.
The judging panel, which is made up of individual Football League Club representatives and independent customer experience experts, examines a family's feedback from the first point of contact right through to the end of the match.
The panel aims to reward those clubs whose 'family experience' demonstrate not only that they are aware of the needs of our 'fans of the future' but that they can also 'deliver' when it comes to the match day itself. Therefore, those clubs who have received the Family Excellence Award this year have achieved the most exacting standard yet.
Northampton Town are one of a select number of clubs to achieve the award and Chairman David Cardoza was delighted to receive the honour.
"I'm absolutely delighted that we have been awarded the Family Excellence Award for 2010-11," he said.
"The club regards itself as a friendly, family club and it is fantastic that this has also been endorsed by this survey. It's a great credit to all our match day staff including turnstile operators and stewards that we have won this award and we endeavour to do all we can to maintain and improve these standards year upon year."
