Huddersfield Town's ‘Pedal 4 Pounds 2’ moves up a gear!
Thu 27th Jan 2011 | Marketing & PR
Over 100 cyclists attended the first ‘Pedal 4 Pounds 2’ meeting at the Stadium, which was hosted by Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis last night.
The meeting allowed the bike ride’s organisation team from Town and the ‘Keep it Up’ campaign to brief the riders on specific details of the ride such as routes, hotels and timings.
Ahead of the hour-long meeting at the Stadium, around 30 of the riders rode their bikes around the perimeter of the pitch under the floodlights.
Pictured is the group of cyclists who began proceedings by cycling round the Stadium’s pitch.
Following on from the first bike ride from Huddersfield to Southend United in August 2009 - an event that saw 23 cyclists raise over £51,000 for the ‘Keep it Up’ campaign. Dean Hoyle and over 180 riders will ride with Dean to the Withdean in Brighton on the 30 April 2011 – a journey totalling over 260 miles!
Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis – who is one of the 180 cyclists – was delighted at the turnout and enthusiasm amongst the cyclists:
“It was good to get the majority of the riders together and witness the magnitude of the event, watching the cyclists ride round the Stadium under the floodlights was a fantastic spectacle,” commented Jarvis.
“There was a brilliant buzz during the meeting and you could feel that everyone just wanted to get on their bikes and start riding to Brighton”
