Tottenham Hotspur & Perform launch new iPhone App

Mon 25th Jan 2010 | IT & Technology

Featuring live audio commentary, video, extensive live stats and news feeds

Barclays Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur and digital sports specialists Perform have today announced the launch of a new cutting edge application for iPhones and iTouch’s that will mean Spurs fans can stay up to date with all the latest club content on the move.

The application will include a range of fan friendly features such as comprehensive live scores and match stats, match highlights and video interviews, news updates, live match day minute-by-minute text updates and what is believed to be a first amongst Barclays Premier league football clubs, live audio commentary, meaning fans with a data connection can listen to the official live audio stream of all Spurs matches wherever they are.

The application has been developed for Apple’s iPhone and iTouch devices by digital specialists Perform, who also power Spurs TV on tottenhamhotspur.com and mobile application developers Bright AI. The application will cost £2.99 to download with an additional £2.39 a month subscription charge for fans who want to receive the live audio and video service.

Adrian Yearwood, New Media Manager at Tottenham Hotspur said: “This is an exciting evolution in Spurs’ digital offering to our fans. We see the launch of our iPhone application as a further innovative way of providing our fans with the latest up to date content wherever they are and whenever they want it.”

Oliver Slipper, Joint-CEO at Perform: “As a Spurs fan I am extremely excited about this new application. We have introduced the smart phone application service to compliment our current mobile service because our clients and their customers are demanding it. The projected growth of the smart phone sector is quite phenomenal and Spurs are leading the way in catering for their fans changing football consumption habits.
