Bundesliga top of the shirt sponsorship league
Fri 23rd Apr 2010 | Football Sponsorship
A report carried out by Italian sport business group Stage UP has revealed the Premier League is lagging behind the German League in the value of its member club’s shirt sponsorship value.
In the ranking of the major football leagues in Europe for revenues from principal shirt sponsorship, the German Bundesliga has strengthened its leadership position with an average club gaining 6.3 million euros, up almost 5% from the previous season in special thanks to the rich contracts Bayern Monaco, Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund.
Second place went to the Premier League with an average of 4.8 million euros, despite a decline of almost 10%.
The decline in England has been attributed to two factors: the financial sector crisis, among the biggest investors in the Premier League, and the loss of value of the pound against the euro.
After the Series A, in third, it places the Spanish league with 2.6 million euros in fouth followed by the French Ligue 1 at an altitude of 2.2 million euros.
