Aston Villa Partner With Time Warner Cable Sports

Aston Villa Football Club and Time Warner Cable Sports have struck a deal which will see the club’s international television programme, Aston Villa Weekly, screened on two regional sports channels in the Southern California area of the USA.

The two-year agreement will see Aston Villa Weekly broadcast to five-million homes in the west coast of America each week on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Spanish-language station Time Warner Cable Deportes.

Aston Villa Weekly is a three-hour programme focusing on all of Villa’s Barclays Premier League games.

The weekly show features Villa’s most recent Barclays Premier League game in full, as well as interviews, news and behind-the-scenes features from the club’s Villa Park stadium and Bodymoor Heath training headquarters. 

Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes are Southern California’s two newest regional sports networks.

Mark Shuken, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Time Warner Cable Sports Regional Networks, said: “Our viewers love soccer and we’re thrilled to be able to provide them with even more premiere soccer programming through our new partnership with Aston Villa.

“The behind-the-scenes content and insider access of ‘Aston Villa Weekly’ perfectly match our programming philosophy and we’re excited that Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes viewers can now watch it every week.”

Russell Jones, Head of Marketing and Communications at Aston Villa, added: “We are delighted to have signed this deal with Time Warner Cable. 

“This relationship will help us reach over five-million homes across the west coast of America, which will not only provide existing fans with another platform to keep up to speed with events at Villa Park, but also allows us an opportunity to introduce Aston Villa to an entirely new audience.”
