Rick Dudley, President & CEO of Octagon Worldwide, to Speak at Soccerex

Wed 9th Nov 2011 | Football Industry Events

Soccerex is delighted to announce that Rick Dudley, President & CEO, Octagon Worldwide, will be a featured speaker on 26-30 November 2011.  Following his presentation, Dudley also will participate on a special panel exploring the role of agencies in sport.  Joining Rick on the panel will be Grupo ABC Chairman, Nizan Guanaes.

Rick’s expertise in sports marketing is of the highest calibre having spent the majority of his career connecting brands to consumers through sports.  He is one of only a handful of sports marketing executives to have held senior management positions with three of the major professional sports leagues in the United States including the NFL, MLB and the NHL.

Rick is consistently recognised as one of the sports industry’s most influential leaders.  For the last five years, he has been listed among the industry’s 50 most influential people in sports by SportsBusiness Journal and was including in the “BusinessWeek Power100” listing of the most influential in sports.  He also is ranked among the top 20 most influential CEO’s in the sports world as compiled by SportBusiness magazine.

Duncan Revie, CEO of Soccerex commented, “Rick’s reputation is renowned throughout the industry; having him confirmed to speak has really added to this ‘super panel’ of agency elites.”

The session will examine the role of Agencies with regard to delivering major sporting events.  Panellists will discuss the future of sports marketing and how changes might affect the traditional role of agencies going forward.  “I look forward to sharing insights we’ve gained through several years of studying the science of fan passion.  What we have evolved is a breakthrough view of fans consistent with the growing use of statistical and quantitative analysis to determine the tactics that will enable sponsors and their agencies to maximize investments at these elite levels,” Dudley said.

The agency panel is just one session that makes up an impressive conference line-up at this year’s Soccerex Global Convention.  Other topics that will be discussed include the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, Stadia, Sponsorship, Sustainability, Social Media, Club Commercial Success, plus exclusive sessions with some of the footballs biggest stars past and present.

Over 4000 delegates will attend the Global Convention this year, including representatives from clubs, brands, sponsors, host cities, leagues and federations, government bodies, leading infrastructure suppliers, agencies, international media and many more.

In addition to the conference line up, the five day event will include a packed exhibition, numerous networking opportunities and a two day Football Festival, all taking place at the Forte de Copacabana and on Copacabana beach.
