Meet the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ Host Cities at Soccerex

Tue 8th Nov 2011 | Football Industry Events

Soccerex are pleased to announce that all twelve of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ Host Cities have confirmed to participate in a dedicated Host City workshop at this year’s Global Convention, 26-30 November, Rio de Janeiro.

The cities will give individual presentations looking at their position ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ tournament including their development strategies going forward.  The presentations are an opportunity for the Host Cities to promote themselves to an audience of key industry delegates and highlight the commercial opportunities associated with their city in conjunction with the World Cup.

The twelve Host Cities include: Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasilia (DF), Cuiaba (MT), Curitiba (PR), Fortaleza (CE), Manaus (AM), Natal (RE), Porto Alegre (RS), Recife (PE), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Salvador (BA) and São Paulo (SP).

‘The Host City Workshop exemplifies what Soccerex is about – bringing business and football together under one roof; the Host Cities will not only give delegates an exclusive insight into the progress and preparation of the most important event in football, they will highlight a whole host of business opportunities,’ said Duncan Revie, Soccerex, CEO.

The Host City Workshop is one in a number of workshops being held during this year’s Soccerex Global Convention as part of a comprehensive conference line-up. Other confirmed workshops will include a commercial club workshop, women’s football, social media, FIFA’s ‘PERFORMANCE’ programme, security, stadia solutions and components of elite performance. There will also be seminar sessions on brands, agencies, corporate social responsibility, infrastructure and sustainability, the 2014 FIFA World CupTM and panel debates with some of the game’s biggest names.

In addition to the conference programme, the five day event will include a packed exhibition, numerous networking opportunities and a two-day Football Festival, all taking place at the Forte de Copacabana and on the Copacabana beach.
