Football League Launch Family Football Festival
Thu 29th Sep 2011 | Marketing & PR
The Football League have launched a 47 match Family Football Festival to encourage families to attend a fun-filled npower Football League game this autumn.
Each club will announce specific activities at their designated fixture with family themed entertainment before, during and after each game.
Running until December, the Family Football Festival campaign is being launched by The Football League to attract new families to games. Football is a family-friendly experience providing quality together-time in a safe environment.
As part of its outreach the Football League will be using the following methods to attract new families to games:
- A facebook hub for the campaign with advertising running across facebook
- National radio advertising on absolute radio
- A partnership with Netmums that will see mummy bloggers reviewing Family Football Festival games
Siobhan Freegard, Founder of Netmums and Family Football Festival ambassador, comments: “Netmums are delighted to be involved with The Family Football Festival - it's an exciting opportunity for families across the country to enjoy a fun day out together at their local League club. It’s a great chance for mums to get the family together and enjoy the atmosphere of a League match first hand this autumn.”
David Malkinson, Head of Marketing at The Football League, feels that football provides great family entertainment, “The Football League and its member clubs have worked hard in recent seasons to ensure that the family experience at npower Football League matches is safe, enjoyable and good value for money.
“Our Family Excellence Award has helped clubs deliver an outstanding experience for families and we believe that League Football is a great leisure option for families, providing quality together time. The Family Football Festival campaign is the next step in our strategic plan and aims to re-engage former fans and their families as well as attract new families to matches.”
