Huddersfield partner to oversee Heritage Suite development

Fri 24th Jun 2011 | Football Stadiums & Facilities

Huddersfield Town have today announced that global hospitality design and fit-out contractor Andy Thornton Ltd has become a partner of the Club and will oversee the development of a new ‘Heritage Suite’ at the Stadium.

The Elland-based company joins a large, ever-growing portfolio of businesses that are part of the Huddersfield Town ‘family’ after agreeing a deal which will see them be partners with Town throughout the 2011/12 season.

Their work with Huddersfield is already well underway; Andy Thornton’s Managing Director  Charles Tolley is pictured with Sean Jarvis, Commercial Director at Huddersfield Town, studying development plans in the Stadium’s box one, which is set to become the ‘Heritage Suite’ ahead of the 2011/12 npower League One Season.

The process of designing and installing the suite is expected to be complete by the start of the new season, giving the box the feel of a classic boardroom from the early post-war era. Named the ‘Heritage Suite’, the new box will be sold by the Club’s Commercial Department on a match by match basis.

Huddersfield Town Commercial Director Sean Jarvis expressed his delight at adding Andy Thornton to the Club’s family of partners:

“We are delighted that Andy Thornton has become the latest organisation to join the Huddersfield Town family of partners. To have another globally recognised company amongst our partners is a massive coup for the Club and we look forward to working alongside them during the upcoming season.”

He added: “The plans for the ‘Heritage Suite’ are breath-taking and I have already had a number of bookings for it off the designs alone. The work is coming along well and with Andy Thornton’s global reputation for quality workmanship, we know it will be a top class facility to host colleagues, friends or family on our match days.”

Managing Director of Andy Thornton Charles Tolley commented:

“Andy Thornton’s are proud and delighted to be associated with such a progressive and inclusive football club. The Heritage Suite provides reminiscences of the Club’s glory days of the 1920’s but is also reflective of the Club’s drive and desire to make Huddersfield Town  the number one football club in the region. We wish the Club all the very best for the forthcoming season and look forward to working alongside them.”
