Bristol City meet councillors over stadium plans

Wed 15th Jun 2011 | Football Stadiums & Facilities

Bristol City Football Club will meet with councillors later today to discuss the club’s plans to build a new stadium at Ashton Vale

Bristol City Council Public Rights of Way Committee are due to meet today to discuss the Town & Village Green Application which affects the site of the Club's proposed new stadium in Ashton Vale.

An officers' report, released last week, recommended only part of the site be approved as a Village Green - crucially not the area earmarked for the new stadium.

Chief executive Guy Price will be in attendance at Council House today (4pm start) to take in the meeting.

The club hopes to overcome the objections which will allow the club to proceed with the build.

Fans are welcome to attend, with the meeting being held in Council Chamber, whilst a webcast of the meeting will be streamed online.

Visit bristol.gov.uk/webcast for the live stream. And later there will be a live blog from Council House on bcfc.co.uk.
