Corby Town seek help naming new stadium

Corby Town and Corby Borough Council request fans’ help to name new stadium
Corby Town Football Club, in conjunction with Corby Borough Council, are asking for their fans help in naming the new stadium that the Steelmen will call home from the start of the 2011/12 campaign.
Whilst the new ground occupies land right behind the existing Rockingham Triangle, both parties felt it was worth exploring whether that the stadium warranted its own identity rather than simply becoming, 'The New Triangle', therefore supporters are invited to send in their suggestions.
Until Friday 24th June, supporters are invited to email their name, a contact telephone number and their proposal for the stadium name to media@corbytownfc.co.uk. All ideas will then be reviewed and a shortlist compiled for discussion by a judging panel.
Leader of Corby Borough Council, Cllr Pat Fawcett, said: “The new stadium is a facility built for our local football club, the fans and the community, therefore it feels only right that everyone should have input into naming it.
“Hopefully we will have lots of suggestions to look over and we look forward to officially revealing the name next month.”
The winning name will be revealed at the start of July when the Borough Council have met with the club to discuss the proposed suggestions. The person who comes up with the chosen name will be invited to attend the first ever match at the stadium, along with three guests, for a special VIP experience as the curtain comes up on a new era for the club.
Where more than one person has proposed the chosen name, all of those with the selected suggestion will go into a hat with the winner of the prize, drawn at random.
