Hibernian FC reveal new main sponsor
Wed 30th Mar 2011 | Football Sponsorship
Hibernian Football Club announced a three year sponsorship deal with Crabbie's, The Ginger Expert, at a media conference staged at Easter Road Stadium yesterday.
Manager Colin Calderwood and Club Captain, Ian Murray, attended the media event alongside Hibernian FC Chief Executive, Scott Lindsay, Crabbie's Sales Director, Alan Dickson and members of the Crabbie's Marketing Team, to help unveil the new main sponsorship deal.
Scott Lindsay, Chief Executive, Hibernian FC, said of the deal: "We are delighted to announce this partnership with a brand that has so much shared heritage and history. As well as both being from Leith, the Club and the Crabbie's brands share a culture of innovation, both have ambitious plans for the future, and we are convinced that this relationship will be beneficial for everyone associated with Hibernian and Crabbies. We look forward to a successful partnership in the coming years."
Colin Calderwood commented: "It's great to secure a big sponsor in the current climate, and especially one who has such strong links with Leith, there's something really nice about that. It's important that the team do their bit to help the business side of the club and that is by winning games. We're all looking forward to working with them."
The innovative sponsorship agreement will kick off next season and will run through to June 2014 and, as main club sponsor, Crabbie's will feature on the Hibernian first team shirts from the start of next season, and will also benefit from marketing, visibility and hospitality rights with the SPL side, giving the brand great exposure across Scotland and further afield. The John Crabbie's brand will be the main sponsor of the U19s and Ladies first teams and will also feature on all children's sized replica kits.
