FC United Launch 'Pitch In' DF Fundraiser
Tue 29th Mar 2011 | Football Stadiums & Facilities
With their sights firmly set on the new location for their ground, FC United of Manchester have launched a new fundraiser, a website called Pitch In which they’re appealing for fans and businesses to help make a success. To visit just click here www.fcunited.org/pitchin
Pitch In is a virtual football pitch divided into 5,000 squares. FC United need help to turn the brown squares to green by clicking “buy squares” and choosing one or as many squares as you like. Each square costs £10, which gives you entry into prize draws to win up to £5,000 and many other unique FC related prizes, including the chance to pick the mascot at FC United’s very first home game at our new ground.
Once they have sold 1,000 squares FC United will select one green square at random and the person who has bought that square will receive £1,000. They will do the same every 1,000 squares until all 5,000 squares have been sold. When they've reach that point they will have raised £45,000 for the FCUM Development Fund.
“This is an easy way for people to get involved in building something really worthwhile from the comfort of their living room, office or bedroom” said FC United General Manager Andy Walsh. “I’d encourage all like-minded football fans to Pitch In because you can help us change football and maybe win some serious money at the same time. I hope anyone who supports what we’re doing gets involved and Pitches In”.
Every ticket purchased is valid for all subsequent draws so if you buy a square now you will be in with 5 chances to win £1,000 in cash. You can advertise your company or personal website, Facebook or Twitter page on squares that you purchase and people can click through to those pages. Click on the link now to see who's already advertised their company website using the site - www.fcunited.org/pitchin
This is an easy way for people to support FC United and help them build their own ground with a few simple mouse-clicks. FC United are asking people to forward this Pitch In links on to friends, family and colleagues and ask them to help them out.
