Charlton Athletic takeover bid accepted

Charlton Athletic Football Club’s owners Baton 2010 Limited has accepted an offer to take over the club.
In an indicative and legally binding offer for the acquisition of Baton 2010, Charlton Athletic Football Company Limited and Charlton Athletic Holdings Limited have accepted a bid from an investor group represented by former Addicks chief executive Peter Varney, Charlton chairman Richard Murray announced on Thursday afternoon.
The investor group is currently undertaking full legal and financial due diligence.
Subject to the investor group being satisfied with the outcome of this due diligence, it is anticipated that completion of the acquisition will take place no later than December 24th.
Charlton are expected to make a further announcement in due course, but there will be no other comment until that time.
Murray took sole control of the club through Baton 2010, a company controlled by Murray and his family, in August.
