PPL Corp, the energy company, is believed to have signed a deal committing US$20 million to secure the naming rights to the Philadelphia Union's stadium when the franchise enters Major League Soccer according to SportsProMedia.com.
Though no announcement has been officially made, PPL is believed to have secured the rights to brand the ground as PPL Park for the next ten years. The stadium will not be complete in time for the expansion franchise's first few matches, which will be played at Lincoln Financial Field, but will be in operation later in the season.
The stadium has cost some US$120 million and is based close to Philadelphia, in Chester. It will have 18,500 seats.
