Bluebirds face bailiff threat

Wed 18th Aug 2010 | Money & Finance

CARDIFF were threatened with bailiffs on the same day they landed Craig Bellamy.

Motherwell say the Bluebirds owe £175,000 from Paul Quinn's switch last year.

And Well chairman John Boyle fumed: "We've had no alternative but to take legal action. We'll consider a winding-up order or simply send bailiffs to their ground on a home match and collect our cash.

"It is absolutely ridiculous that they're splashing money all round the place and can't even pay last year's debts."

Cardiff chief executive Gethin Jenkins said: "This issue will be resolved in the next week."
