Northampton Town FC join business alliance
Wed 5th May 2010 | Marketing & PR
Northampton Town Football Club has joined Northamptonshire Chamber's Business Alliance Group.
The Business Alliance Group (BAG), which is now in its third year, is an exclusive group of companies and organisations set up to bring together some of the largest and most influential businesses in the county to help shape the future of business in Northamptonshire.
Its members meet regularly and, through the Chamber, are granted access to MPs and special business events throughout the year.
Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive of Northamptonshire Chamber, said: "It is great news that Northampton Town Football Club has joined the Business Alliance Group. The Club does a lot of work with local businesses and the community in general and we are thrilled to have them on board. We are already discussing the various ways we can work together to benefit the Chamber and its member companies."
Northampton Town Chairman, David Cardoza, added: "We are delighted and honoured to join such a prestigious group. As a Football Club we are proud to be at the heart of the community of Northampton and joining the Business Alliance Group is a natural step forward for us.
"We have strong links with the local business community and we are looking forward to working with our partners on the group to our mutual benefit. To be one of only a few companies and organisations in this exclusive group really reaffirms our commitment to work even more closely with some of the most influential businesses in the county."
The club has also announced today that they are reverting back to the original club crest (see pic).
The current badge, which was introduced in 2006, will be phased out over the summer.
"We are reverting back to the traditional club crest from next season," said Chairman David Cardoza.
"In response to comments from supporters we will be phasing the traditional crest back in over the summer and that will once again be our official club badge, with the official changeover date of July 1st."
