Kidderminster Harriers land new sponsorship deal
Fri 30th Apr 2010 | Football Sponsorship
Kidderminster Harriers have signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with local IT firm OGL Computers.
The new two-year deal worth £70,000 sees the welcome return of OGL, who sponsored the conference club between 1997 and 2004, and ends weeks of speculation after the Conference National side struggled to secure a main sponsor.
Details of the deal see OGL branding feature on both the front and back of the new kit, the shorts and several advertising boards around the ground.
Harriers chairman, Barry Norgrove was relieved at the timely financial boost. "It's absolutely fantastic, unbelievable, I'm so pleased," he said. "I've had sleepless nights because it's difficult to get someone to sponsor the shirts, so to get somebody as big as OGL is fantastic.
"The track record they have here is brilliant. Financially this is a massive boost for us and this will be a shock for everybody in the town. At the end of the two years we'll look at the deal again, with a bit of luck they'll have seven years here like before."
OGL's previous seven-year sponsorship came during the club's most successful period when they were promoted to the Football League for the first time in their history.
OGL operations director, Neil Morris said: "We had some great times, especially when Jan Molby was manager as well. It has a spin-off that it promotes OGL locally. I know we've got a lot of staff that support Harriers and I'll know they'll get a buzz from us being on the shirt. All-in-all I think this will be a good move for us."
