Carlsberg unveil £30m World Cup Campaign
Tue 26th Jan 2010 | Football Sponsorship
Carlsberg is to launch a £30m World Cup-themed marketing campaign that will become the beer brand’s biggest single marketing investment of the year.
As the official beer of the England national team Carlsberg will launch a campaign called ‘Teamtalk’ which calls on fans to deliver a team talk to the England team via video or text message.
Carlsberg will also be visiting Premier League grounds and supermarkets with a branded tour bus in which fans can also record their team talk. The videos can then be viewed on a dedicated YouTube channel.
The beer brand is also set to launch television adverts in the build up to this June’s World Cup in South Africa.
In addition, more than 2.5 million promotional Carlsberg packs will be available from February.
Last year, Carlsberg signed a four-year extension to its sponsorship deal with The Football Association to remain the ‘official beer’ of both the England team and The FA Cup.
