Football looks to new media and technology for commercial gain
Tue 13th Apr 2010 | Football Industry Events
After a 5 month consultation process with 70 senior executives across the global sports and football industry, Leaders in Football reveals that new commercial, media, mobile, and technology services are becoming more important to rights holders as they seek to expand their commercial programmes.
Traditional on and off line sponsorship, including the integration of naming rights deals, are expected to continue as the main source of commercial revenue for directors and rights holders but increasingly Clubs are exploiting revenues associated with more relationship marketing activities and are tapping into a range of innovative companies with expertise outside of sport.
The consultation process included some of Europe and American sport’s most important rights holders and brands, including Everton, Chelsea, Birmingham, Liverpool, Blackburn, Seville, Real Madrid, Ajax, Celtic, Eredivisie, La Liga, Serie A, FAI, RFU, Malaga, NBA, NFL, The FA, SPL, NY Knicks, La Galaxy, DC United, NJ Nets and Boston Celtics.
In response to these findings, Leaders in Football is proud to announce a further refinement of their strategy around their exhibition at this year’s event which takes place on 6th and 7th October at Chelsea FC. Rather than increasing the size of the exhibition, the centre of excellence at Leaders will become a showcase for best practice in which relevant technology, mobile, social media and direct commercial and marketing services will take precedent. In a deliberate effort to increase quality over quantity and ensure relevance is achieved, only 25 companies will be allowed access to this unique environment and with 19 companies already confirmed ahead of the official event launch, only 6 opportunities remain for those who feel they meet the criteria. 1000 senior executives linked to clubs, leagues, federations and brands will be attending this year’s Leaders in Football with demand, once again, expected to exceed supply.
If you would like to learn more about the remaining exhibition spaces for 2010, or further information about Leaders in Football, please contact one of the team on +44 (0) 208 545 1595 or email enquiry@leadersinfootball.com.
