The Soccerex Supplement returns for the European Forum

Wed 8th Feb 2012 | Football Industry Events

Following the success of the inaugural Soccerex Supplement, Soccerex are delighted to announce that football legends John Barnes, Phil Thompson, Peter Reid and Bryan Robson will be joining chief sports journalist Paddy Barclay for the latest edition of the Soccerex Supplement at this year’s Soccerex European Forum in Manchester, 28-29 March.  The session will be moderated by BBC Football Focus presenter and sports journalist Dan Walker.

With its relaxed tone, the Soccerex Supplement is a no-holds-barred discussion between some of football’s biggest names and top industry journalists about key issues affecting the game today.  The Soccerex Supplement was first staged to mark the launch of this year’s European Forum in Manchester. The camaraderie between the panellists meant that the session was not only informative, it was also very entertaining; because it was so well received it was immediately signed up as a highlight session for the main event.

Soccerex CEO Duncan Revie comments: ‘Bryan, John, Peter and Phil are some of the greatest players the game has seen and Paddy and Dan are two of the most knowledgeable, personable and respected journalists in the business – you can guarantee this will be highly valuable and very entertaining!’

The Soccerex Supplement will round off a packed conference line-up which will include content on UEFA’s latest developments, player and coach development in the wake of Financial Fairplay and the new Elite Player Performance Plan, the ‘Art of Management’ – a presentation from one of Europe’s most successful managers, a look at the relationship between betting and football with consideration to the issue of match fixing, a look at club ownership and financial management with regard to Financial Fairplay, the changing landscape of football sponsorship and a session looking at the turbulent relationship between football and the media.

In addition to this year’s conference programme delegates will also benefit from a packed exhibition showcasing the latest industry products and services. There will also be a host of informal and formal networking opportunities for delegates to maximise business opportunities and enjoy the unique atmosphere Soccerex events create.
