BBC say no to Gordon Brown

It’s been reported that Gordon Brown has had his request to appear on Match of the Day 2, the BBC’s Sunday night Premier League highlights programme rejected.
The broadcasting corporation – are said to be concerned that it’s too close to a general election to have him as a guest.
Downing Street asked the BBC if the prime minister could appear on the programme at the end of last year.
It is believed that the prime minister's advisors wanted him to talk about England's bid for the 2018 World Cup. However, there are strict broadcasting guidelines in place surrounding impartiality before a general election and after seeking advice the BBC rejected the request.
