Populous and Rapiscan Talk Infrastructure and Sustainability at Soccerex

Fri 30th Sep 2011 | Football Industry Events

Soccerex are delighted to announce that Christopher Lee, Senior Principal of global design specialist Populous and Steve Revell, Commercial Director of world leading security provider Rapiscan, have both confirmed their participation in the conference programme for this year’s Soccerex Global Convention – 26-30 November 2011, Rio de Janeiro.

The two senior representatives will provide individual presentations as part of the ‘Events that last a lifetime – Infrastructure and Sustainability’ session which explores best practice with regard to designing events that support the community and leave a lasting legacy. The Individual presentations will be followed by a panel discussion hosted by Ben Avison, Editor of Host City Magazine.

Responsible for creating some of the most iconic stadiums around the world including Wembley Stadium, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Super Bowl XLV, Populous specialise in creating environments that draw people and communities together for unforgettable experiences. Considered innovators when it comes to sustainable design, Populous designers recognise the importance of a healthy environment, paying careful consideration, on every project, to the amount of energy that goes into a building or event and how best to reuse the building or pieces of an event at the end of its useful life.

As the Official Security Equipment and Systems supplier to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Rapiscan are experts when it comes to delivering solutions and technologies for large scale events. Their presentation will explore what it takes to ensure traceable governance mechanisms; teaming agreements that succeed, integrating people, processes and technology to produce a best-in-class partnership.

‘Events that last a lifetime – Infrastructure and Sustainability’ is just one in a series of major events focused stadia sessions scheduled in this year’s Soccerex conference line-up; others include ‘Danny Jordaan’s Winning team’, ‘Stadia Solutions’ and a dedicated Security workshop.  In addition to major events this year’s conference programme will also include sessions on the 2014 FIFA World CupTM, Agencies, Performance, Social Media, Commercial Success and exclusive sessions with some of football’s biggest stars, past and present.

In addition to the in-depth conference schedule, the Soccerex Global Convention will consist of a packed exhibition and a large range of networking events taking place in the Forte de Copacabana plus a two-day Football Festival taking place on the iconic Copacabana beach, Rio de Janeiro.
