Rushden & Diamonds FC placed into administration
Thu 7th Jul 2011 | Football Club Administration
Troubled Northamptonshire football club Rushden & Diamonds FC was placed into administration at the High Court earlier this week after failing to attract new investment following their expulsion from the Football Conference last month.
Attempts to find new investment from a Japanese property company faltered on Sunday and the SaveRDFC supporters group failed to raise the necessary funds to save their club.
The club announced on Tuesday (5th Jult) that they were withdrawing their appeal following the news that they had failed to attract the required investment.
Gary Carter of insolvency practitioners Carter Clark commented “Sadly Rushden & Diamonds FC Limited has been placed into administration by the secured creditor, after failing to attract the necessary funds to continue.
“It is very sad when such a popular club fails and our thoughts are with the fans who must be very disheartened that attempts to save their club have not succeeded.”
Alan Clark of Carter Clark has been appointed administrator by the debenture holder. The administrator is not in a position to carry on trading the business. Formal notice of the appointment, together with a proof of debt form enabling creditors to lodge claims in the administration, are available from the insolvency notices section of Carter Clark’s website.
