FA propose new league structure for Step 1-4

Fri 3rd Jun 2011 | Football Governance

There could be several new clubs competing in the Evo-Stik League next season after the Football Association yesterday released their proposed structuring of the National League System for Steps 1-4.

In their proposed structure for 2011/12, Stafford Rangers (relegated from Blue Square Bet North) and Hednesford Town (moved from Southern Premier League) will join Chester, Chorley and Rushall Olympic in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division. The provisional set-up also sees Burscough - who finished 19th in the Premier Division last year - get a reprieve from relegation, while Division One South champions Barwell could move to the Southern Premier League.

In Division One North, New Mills and Farsley FC look set to join after their promotion from the North West Counties League and Northern Counties East League respectively. They will also be joined by Ossett Town, who were relegated from the Evo-Stik League Premier Division.

The resignations of both Retford United and Glapwell from Division One South have given the division a freshened-up look, with up to four new teams joining the Evo-Stik League.

Ilkeston FC - formed from the ashes of 2008-09 Premier Division runners up Ilkeston Town - have rejoined the league, while Bedworth Town and Rugby Town have been moved across from the Southern League. FA Vase finalists and Midlands Football Alliance winners Coalville Town have been promoted to the division, while Hucknall Town drop down from the Premier Division.

The address for the full structuring can be found below. Please note that these allocations are only provisional, and will be finalised at the League AGM.
