Andrew Fitton resigns as Chairman of Swindon Town

Andrew Fitton has resigned as chairman of Swindon following the club's relegation to npower League Two.
Fitton, who took over at the helm in 2008, watched the Robins come agonisingly close to securing Championship football just 12 months ago as they lost 1-0 to Millwall in the League One play-off final at Wembley.
But it has been a completely different story this season as Monday's 3-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday saw the Wiltshire outfit relegated to League Two.
Director Jeremy Wray will take the position of interim chairman until a long-term appointment is made at the County Ground.
Fitton told Town's official website, www.swindontownfc.co.uk: "When I became chairman of the club in 2008 I laid down the objective of Championship football at the County Ground within three to five years.
"Since that time I have been privileged to work with a fantastic team of people who have transformed the club in so many ways.
"However, after the 'highs' of last season's play-off final appearance we have now experienced the 'lows' of relegation and I feel a weight of responsibility for our under-performance this season.
"I am hugely disappointed with our relegation to League Two. I feel that the time is therefore right for me to step away from my role as chairman, to draw a line under the frustrations of this season and to recharge my own batteries."
