The FA announce the appointment of Mark Donnelly to the new role of Chief Finance Officer.

Mr Donnelly is currently the Finance Director at the Lawn Tennis Association where his responsibilities include managing and overseeing all aspects of the LTA’s financial functions, corporate governance and risk management.  He joined the LTA in 2009 from the O2 entertainment venue where he was initially Finance Director and then Managing Director of the venue for 12 months after its hugely successful opening.  As Finance Director for AEG Mark was a key member of the construction project team of the O2.  Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1996.  He is treasurer of his son’s local football team Hersham EG FC.

At The FA, functions reporting into Mr Donnelly will include Finance, Human Resources, Legal and IT. He will report to Alex Horne, the General Secretary. He will join at a date to be confirmed.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Horne said: “I am delighted that Mark will be joining us.  He has a unique experience in sports business, venue management and build projects which is ideal for our current challenges.  I look forward to working with him in helping to continue to deliver The FA’s broad agenda in what remains a challenging economic climate.”

Mark Donnelly said: “I have had a fantastic couple of years at the LTA, and the opportunity to work for The FA is an extraordinary one.  The FA and Wembley Stadium are English icons and I relish the chance to contribute to their development.”
