German football leaders speak at Soccerex European Forum
Wed 8th Dec 2010 | Football Industry Events
Soccerex are pleased to announce that Oliver Bierhoff, German National Team Manager, Christian Seifert, CEO, Deutsche Fußball Liga and Christian Nerlinger, Director of Sport FC Bayern München will be speaking in a special panel at the Soccerex European Forum 30-31 March, 2011.
The panel, titled “One Common Goal – the German model for success” will focus on the co-ordinated revolution within German football that took place after the national teams dismal showing in Euro 2000. Working together the clubs, leagues and German FA orchestrated a dramatic change that resulted in the new youthful German side which wowed the world at the 2010 FIFA World Cup with an exciting brand of attacking football and a whole new crop of international stars.
These key figures from three critical stakeholders, a Federation, League and a Club, will look at the different measures the German Football hierarchy undertook to establish the common goal of international and domestic success.
Commenting on the subject and their involvement in the Soccerex European Forum, they said:
“The DFB (German Football Association), the DFL as the League’s organization and Clubs laid the excellent groundwork and paved the way for our achievement at the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Germany has taken on a leadership role thanks to the tremendous work at the respective clubs’ youth development centers, which invest over EUR 80 million every year to promote young football players. I am very much looking forward to sharing our journey and experiences over the past years with the Soccerex audience in Manchester.” Oliver Bierhoff, German National Team Manager.
“The Bundesliga is a model of success. The FC Bayern Munich is very proud to be the strongest international brand in the world’s most exciting and well-balanced football league. And thanks to the excellent collaboration in German football, the Bundesliga has the best promotion of young talent, the most modern and secure stadiums as well as the low ticket prices. We will gladly discuss our model of success at Soccerex.” Christian Nerlinger, Director of Sport FC Bayern München.
“Nationally the Bundesliga is in peak condition and internationally on the successful path to growth. Attractive football, fascinating competition, top players from our own talent pools and financially sound clubs define the Bundesliga’s global image. The Bundesliga is broadcast in all 208 FIFA member countries and enjoys an ever-growing popularity around the world. This is also a reflection of the excellent cooperation/team play between the league, the DFB and the clubs.” Christian Seifert, CEO, Deutsche Fußball Liga
The session is part of a two-day event which returns to Manchester for a second year on 30-31 March 2011, at the Manchester Central and will see the elite of Europe’s football industry come together to debate, network and do business.
In addition to the German Football Model, the agenda announced so far includes topics such as financial equality, commercial challenges to differing sized clubs, successful sponsorship, social media and fan interaction, Euro 2016 and a 2012 UEFA European Championships update.
