Russia to host the World Cup in 2018

England fail in their attempt to host the World Cup in 2018 after FIFA decide that Russia should host the tournament.
After nearly two years of intense lobbying, England’s bid was not strong enough to beat Russia who presented a stronger case to the FIFA delegates.
Having missed out on the chance to host the 2006 World Cup which went to Germany, England’s bid team were weary of complacency and have worked hard to eradicate any of the arrogance that marred the last bid.
This morning’s final bid presentation was well received with Prime Minister David Cameron leading the delegation.
Qatar have won the right to host the World Cup in 2022 beating Australia, USA, Korea & Japan.
Blatter said he was happy that the World Cup would be going to these 'new territories'.
