SPL announce two more major sponsorship deals
Fri 10th Sep 2010 | Marketing & PR
The Scottish Premier League (SPL) announced another two new commercial deals, following the announcement of four deals earlier this month. These deals were approved by the clubs at the last General Meeting.
IMG Sports Media has been appointed as the Archive Partner for the Scottish Premier League for the next three seasons, until the end of season 2012/13. IMG will represent over 10,000 hours of archive SPL footage from the past 12 years of the SPL.
Thomas Cook will become the Official Travel Partner of the SPL in a three year deal. The partnership will see Thomas Cook Holiday Clubs formed at the following clubs: Dundee United, Hamilton Academical, Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Motherwell, St Johnstone and St Mirren. Fans will get a discount on holidays booked through Thomas Cook, whilst the club will receive money back on each sale through their Holiday Club.
Neil Doncaster, Chief Executive of the SPL, commented, "I am pleased to be announcing another two commercial deals that will drive even more investment to our clubs and working with two well-known brands is even better news for our fans.
"Thanks to our partnership with IMG, fans will be able to see more classic moments from the last 12 years of the SPL. Fans can now enjoy a discount on all holidays from Thomas Cook and raise funds for their club at the same time. We look forward to working with IMG and Thomas Cook over the next three seasons."
Richard Wise, Senior Vice President, Programme Sales, IMG Media said: "IMG is delighted to have been appointed the first archive partner for the Scottish Premier League. We hope that our experience, expertise and innovation in this area will help increase the exposure of these memorable and exciting matches."
Danny Talbot, Managing Director of Thomas Cook Sport said, "It's fantastic news that we're now working with more Scottish Premier League clubs than ever before. With thousands of fans able to benefit from our Holiday Club discounts, we're looking forward to building great relationships over the coming seasons."
