MK Dons appoint the youngest manager in the Football League

Mon 10th May 2010 | Clubs Ownership

Milton Keynes Dons FC have today announced the appointment of Karl Robinson as the Club’s new manager.

Karl, 29, has agreed a 12-month rolling contract and becomes the youngest manager in the Football League, taking on full-time first team duties with immediate effect.

Robinson makes the step up from assistant manager, having acted as number two under the departing Paul Ince this season.

He has appointed the vastly-experienced former England coach John Gorman to the role of assistant manager, with Alex Rae retaining his position as first team coach

Dons Chairman Pete Winkelman said: “Karl is a young man with enormous ambition that has the talent, the enthusiasm and the maturity to build on the momentum our Club is building.

“His coaching credentials and reputation within the game are already well-established and his appointment provides us with some much-needed continuity in terms of team development, player identification and recruitment.

“He believes in the ambition of this Football Club and is passionate about continuing to help us move forward.”

Karl, John and Alex will be presented to the media at stadiummk on Monday afternoon.
