Samsung Sponsor Swindon Town's 3rd Kit
Thu 6th May 2010 | Football Sponsorship
Football League One side Swindon Town have signed a one year sponsorship deal with Korean electronics giant Samsung.
Samsung will sponsor the club’s third kit for the 2010/11 campaign, but will also launch a search for a grass roots player to earn a one-year professional deal at the club.
The ‘Win a Pro Contract’ scheme will see players progress through a series of regional trials and matches to be held later this year, before a final game at the club’s County Ground stadium where a winner will be selected by first team boss Danny Wilson.
He will then join the club on a professional basis in January 2011, receive a boot deal from JJB, feature regularly in FourFourTwo Magazine, Swindon Town’s regular shirt sponsor, and become a football ambassador for Samsung.
“We are delighted to be part of the Win A Pro Contract initiative and the nationwide search to identify one talented individual who will be offered a one-year professional football contract,” said Swindon chief executive Nick Watkins.
Samsung sponsorship account director Martin Howard said: “The Win A Pro Contract project reinforces Samsung’s commitment to sport and further shows how we are providing opportunities for people to fulfil their potential."
