Alfreton Town Unveils ‘Vision of the Future’ Plans

Alfreton Town chairman Wayne Bradley has unveiled the club's 'vision of the future' plans for the Impact Arena.

The Reds chief has had a fantastic 360-degree virtual tour of the stadium in the future produced as a video clip which fans can view via the link to it which is sited on the club's official website.

With work still to be started on a new roof structure over the all-seated Bentley Close end and on the bottom part of the Tom McRoy stand, Bradley explained the reason for publishing his plans for the remainder of the stadium.

Bradley explained: "Slowly, but surely, the developments are starting to see conclusions made to them. One side of the ground has been developed over the last five years and we have gained planning permission to construct a roof over the Bentley Close end which then becomes another quarter of the ground which will be finished.

"The full picture of ground development is one that has been focused on for over a decade. All we have decided to do is release our vision of what other developments we hope to carry out.

"The reasoning is because there is a hoped-for major development of the Welfare [Tom McRoy stand] side of the ground. The cost will not be insignificant, and our public consultation will begin as early as this without any plans drawn, or submitted. We are looking to court opinion before we commit ourselves to any undertakings.

"The Tom McRoy stand side is where the major development will be. That will incorporate the movement of the current changing rooms, along with all sorts of other facilities.

"There certainly won't be a hard and fast time frame put to other future developments so we won't be pressurising ourselves. We have to plan for funds gained, grants gained and opinion gain which will all be gathered before we put time frames to matters.

"Hence the reason why we have decided to show a complete stadia, developed fully and developed to a division we are in as well as beyond.

"In typical fashion, we have created a base from which the works of fund raising, grant gaining and public opinion can become reality, then ultimately, planning consultation and permission gains."
