Wolves bring in media law firm for players who tweet

Mick McCarthy has reportedly brought in a media law firm to advise players on the use of social networking sites such as Twitter.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers manager is concerned that one of his players within the squad could use Twitter to reveal his starting line-up.
McCarthy said: "Players are going to get themselves into trouble over Twitter, I can tell.
“I can't ban it and I'm not going to try. But they have to be careful what they say on it about the club and its policies.
“If they put a team selection up, which I'm sure some disgruntled numpty will at some stage, they will be in trouble. Then I think they can get fined. It is forbidden and I think it's unforgivable anyway [to] make it known just because they are not in the team.
"We are in the process of educating them, having a media law firm come in and speak to the players about it. Having pictures of yourself misbehaving as a 16-year-old is OK until you become a famous footballer and that picture is still there and is there forever."
McCarthy’s decision to educate his players may need to be considered by other clubs such as Newcastle united after Jose Enrique was fined £100,000 following his Twitter outburst over the club’s transfer policy.
Pardew told local newspaper, The Journal: “Jose was wrong to put those comments up. I suggested that to him.
“It is a good offer which we have given him and maybe the frustration of the situation got the better of him.
“It was a mistake, he knows it and so do I.”
Pardew also revealed he is concerned by the modern footballer’s use of Twitter and feels such networking tools need to be looked at.
He said: “I think Twitter is very dangerous. You can say things when emotionally when it is probably not the best time to try and express your feelings. That does not reflect well on people. A lot of players will be embarrassed by some of the stuff they put on there.
“I am not against free speech and I’m all for people expressing themselves.
“They just have to be very careful.”
