QPR fined £875,000 for breach of FA rules

Queens Park Rangers (QPR) were found guilty of two charges of breaching Football Association (FA) rules by an Independent Regulatory Commission on Saturday (May 7)
Rangers, who were be promoted to the Premier League as Champions were fined £875,000 plus 50% costs as a result of the charges.
“We are delighted by the decision reached today (Saturday 7th May) by the independent panel which confirms our promotion to The English Premier League,” read a statement released by the club.
The club faced a total of seven charges of breaching FA regulations, relating to the signing of Alejandro Faurlin, following concerns of the existence of an agreement between the QPR and a third party in respect of the player’s economic rights, and the failure by the QPR to notify The FA of that agreement before the player was registered to play in England in July 2009.
The Commission found the club to have been in breach of FA Rule E3 for which they were fined £800,000, and to have also been in breach of FA Football Agents Regulations, A1 which brought a £75,000. .
In addition QPR were warned as to its future conduct with particular regard as to regulatory compliance.
However, a further five charges against the Club and one charge against Mr Gianni Paladini were found not proven.
QPR had been expecting, if found guilty of all charges, to face a points deduction of up to 15 points. This would have dropped the club into the Championship play off positions.
But the news that the club would not face a points deduction was welcomed by the club who will now look forward to playing in the Premier League next season.
