New board appointed at Mansfield Town
Wed 20th Apr 2011 | Football Club Management
Mansfield Town FC has unveiled its new board of directors which has pledged to take the club back into the Football League.
Following an appeal from the Chairman earlier this season for high calibre candidates to come forward, John Radford has now appointed Steve Middleton, Steve Hymas, Andrew Saunders, Mark Hawkins and Darren Bland as Executive Directors.
With all five immediately pledging five figure sums, these individuals will not only provide financial backing but also offer a wide and impressive skills set to club.
The new board will include the return of Steve Hymas, Andrew Saunders and Steve Middleton to decision-making level after the trio sold the club to John Radford last September.
Radford is also joined by local businessmen Mark Hawkins and Darren Bland. Hawkins is well known to Radford and Bland is a prominent member of the local business community and has been a long-time fan and corporate sponsor with his business. Bland is also a Vice President.
Each member of the board will be assigned specific roles by the Chairman to ensure that they operate as a viable and sustainable business in the future.
The club, currently playing in the Blue Square Premier League, believes the sound financial footing offered by the board will enable them to operate the financial clout required to compete in that division with the aim of returning to the Football League.
