Canalside receives a fresh coat from Dulux

Fri 15th Apr 2011 | Football Stadiums & Facilities

Huddersfiel Town’s new training complex Canalside has received a helping hand from paint producers Dulux. Not only has the Club received a large donation of paint but they have also stocked up on painting equipment courtesy of the ICI Dulux Decorator Centre.

Decorating will begin at Canalside in the next couple of weeks as redevelopment work on the site starts to gather pace.

The Huddersfield based paint suppliers have been involved in a number of community run initiatives recently – most notably alongside Golcar Scout Group. The helping hand ICI provided help revamp and add a splash of colour to Golcar’s scouting premises. Additionally, the trade supplier has done a lot of charity work helping out organisations across Huddersfield.

Redevelopment work on the interior of Canalside is already well underway. Town fans who have already visited the training complex will have noticed the new signage on the way into the Club and the re-branding around the bar and lounge area. Work on the pitches at Canalside will begin during the closed season ready for the players to use on a daily basis during the 2011/12 season.

Richard Morgan, Store Manager at the ICI Dulux Decorator Centre is pictured with Town’s Advertising Manager Mark Jacobs and the Operations Manager at Canalside Stuart Leach.

Stuart commented: “Work is set to begin in the next few weeks with a big push planned to have the interior ready for the start of next season.

“Everyone at Canalside and Huddersfield Town would like to thank Richard and the people at ICI for donating the paint along with all the supplies to go with it – their help is massively appreciated”

Richard commented: “As a company we are always looking to support the community and help Huddersfield and the local area.

“We are excited by the prospect of a Premier League Standard training complex being based down the road from us and we are delighted we have been able to offer Huddersfield Town a helping hand during their redevelopment work.”
