FIFA have revealed they have cash reserves of $1.2 bn (£740m) after last year's World Cup in South Africa
Sepp Blatter told African football adminstrators that the financial results were better than the 2006 World Cup hosted by Germany and that more details of its success would be published next week in FIFA's annual report.
FIFA began the World Cup year with reserves of $1.06 bn.
FIFA has also stated that the reserves could sustain the organisation for 18 months if a World Cup was cancelled. Blatter opened the CAF assembly by saying the African continent should be proud of how they staged last year’s World Cup.
