Burnley FC announce pre-tax profits of £14.4m
Tue 9th Nov 2010 | Money & Finance
Burnley Football Club has today reported a record pre-tax profit of £14.4m to shareholders.
The accounts for the 2009/10 season, ending June 30, 2010, show the positive effect one year of Premier League football had on the club’s finances.
The club’s 2009/10 profit, a major upturn from recording losses of £11.7m in 2008/09, includes rises in all aspects of the business, from match income (including television rights), catering sales, commercial activities and shop sales.
Burnley Football Club chairman Mr Barry Kilby said: “As predicted, our exposure to the increased revenues of the Premier League has enabled the club to achieve a record profit of £14.4m.
“This has been used to good effect to correct the losses incurred over previous years, repaying debt and strengthening the balance sheet.”
The club’s 113th Annual General Meeting will take place at Turf Moor on Monday, December 13.
