Football League looks for new charity partner

Mon 11th Oct 2010 | Marketing & PR

The Football League has today [Monday October 11] made an open invitation for charities to submit a bid to become The League's Official Charity Partner for the 2011/12 season.

The Football League is committed to helping good causes, particularly those to which football supporters can relate.

Help for Heroes (Season 2009/10) and Marie Curie Cancer Care (Season 2010/11) were the first two charities to be selected as Official Partners.

Charities have until midday on Friday November 5 to outline how their partnership would have a positive impact on the League's 72 members clubs and their respective communities.

A shortlist of charities will be published and put to a public vote on www.football-league.co.uk.

The top two rated charities will then be passed to The Football League board for final selection.

Director of Marketing and Communications at The Football League, Gavin Megaw, said: "The Football League is committed to helping good causes and has raised substantial funds and awareness in recent years for our partner charities.

"We look forward to hearing from charities of all sizes from across the UK that can demonstrate their ability to have a positive impact on the League's 72 members clubs and their respective communities."

The successful charity will be provided with the following:

- Use of The Football League logo as the Official Charity Partner of The Football League

- Complimentary full page adverts in one edition of each club's matchday programmes

- Complimentary full page adverts in Carling Cup Final, Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final and the three Play-Off Final programmes

- Complimentary hospitality table and tickets for ten people to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final and the three Play-Off Finals

- Ten complimentary match tickets for the Carling Cup Final

- Opportunity to show short promotional film publicising the charity on screens at the Carling Cup Final, Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final and three Play-Off Finals

- Support and guidance in seeking personalities within The League for use in publicising the charity or to donate items for auctions

- Complimentary online page for one season on The Football League website

Applications should be sent to:
