Shrewsbury Town Football Club Sell Stadium Naming Rights

Thu 6th May 2010 | Football Sponsorship

Football League Two club Shrewsbury Town has agreed a three-year stadium naming rights deal with local car dealership Greenhous.

The deal also includes an extension of Greenhous' front-of-shirt sponsorship. The new name of the club's home ground, formerly known as the Prostar Stadium, will be chosen after a vote by supporters, with one fan selected at random to announce the result. The options available to Shrewsbury fans are Greenhous Stadium, Park, Coliseum or Arena.

Greenhous director general manager Dave Sullivan said: "The Shrews attract the biggest regular crowd to home games of any club or event in the county, and many of our customers and staff are season ticket holders. We are passionate about the future of professional football in Shropshire, we really want to get as many fans and customers involved with our sponsorship as possible, so at the start of next season we’ll be announcing a series of new initiatives to give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate."

Ian Bebbington, operations and commercial manager at Shrewsbury Town, added: "Shrewsbury Town is extremely fortunate to have such a loyal, stable and local sponsor as Greenhous, and we're delighted to extend our work with the company."

Shrewsbury Town are currently in 12th place in the 24-team Coca-Cola League Two, the fourth tier of English professional soccer, with one game remaining in the season.
