Premier League rights chief quits to join US agency

Wed 21st Apr 2010 | Television & Broadcasting

Phil Lines, the English Premier League’s director of media operations and international broadcasting, has been recruited by CAA Sports, a division of the US entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency, to help develop their international presence.

He joins Peter Kenyon, former chief executive of Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea, who was appointed to head CAA’s international operations in November. Lines, who will leave the Premier League on May 28, was a driving force behind the league’s rapid growth in overseas television revenue, for which it was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category this week.
