Wed 25th Jan 2012 | UEFA
UEFA are holding a second financial fair play media day today (25th Jan) which will include the launch of the UEFA Club Licensing Benchmarking Report Financial Year 2010, at the House of European Football in Nyon.
The media day will be opened by UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino and will include presentations by various UEFA experts concerning financial fair play. European clubs, represented by Jean-Michel Aulas (Olympique Lyonnais) and Ernesto Paolillo (FC Internazionale Milano) from the European Club Association (ECA), will also be present and speak.
An overview of the trends in European club football taken from the UEFA Club Licensing Benchmarking Report Financial Year 2010 will be presented, highlighting the health of European clubs based on the financial figures from 2010. Key milestones and principles of financial fair play will also be explained along with an update on its implementation.
Finally there will be a presentation on the legal aspects of the new rule, including its legality in relation to current European Union (EU) law.
Nineteen committees in total are responsible for helping to shape UEFA's policies and overall vision, ranging from medical issues and players' status/transfers to refereeing, finance and the UEFA competitions. The committees submit the results of their deliberations to the Executive Committee. Several committees have met recently, and the Executive Committee will hear their advice, proposals and recommendations on a number of topics.
The UEFA Executive Committee's next meeting after Nyon will be in Istanbul on 20 and 21 March, ahead of the XXXVI Ordinary UEFA Congress.
