Huddersfield Town launch ‘Run for Pounds’

Mon 9th Jan 2012 | Football Industry Events

Huddersfield Town Football Club continue to support local charities with the launch of its latest big charity initiative 'Run for Pounds - Huddersfield 10km' run in aid of the Club's and Yorkshire Air Ambulances' 'Keep It Up' campaign.

On Sunday March 18 2012 Huddersfield Town, Kirklees Active Leisure and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance is holding a 10km run in aid of the 'Keep It Up' campaign.

The run is for people of all ability levels whether you're a budding Olympic hopeful or have never undertook a distance run in your life, taking in the local sights of Huddersfield.

"It's a fantastic concept which we've been thinking about for a while now" said Commercial Director Sean Jarvis. "I've always thought that the Football Club, with its status and following could undertake a mass participation event, and by teaming up with experts Kirklees Active Leisure this is the perfect time to do it.

"We've got 'Pedal for Pounds' for the keen cyclists, and 'Walk for Pounds' for the ramblers, but 'Run for Pounds' provides the perfect opportunity for those who like any physical activity and want to do something special this year.

"I'd urge every supporter to have a go at one of these events in aid of this fantastic cause.

"Not only will you be amongst other Town fans you'll also be amongst me as I'll be taking part, although my time will be a long way off Olympic standards and I'll be at the back with the horses and other fancy dressers!"

To take part, all the Club is asking for is £15 as entry fee (plus £1.20 booking fee) and for participants to try and get as much sponsorship as they're able to!
