The Football League has confirmed the details for this season’s annual awards ceremony
The Football League has confirmed the details for its annual awards ceremony which will take place on Sunday 11th March 2012. For the second year running, the gala evening will be held at The Brewery in the City of London in front of a 600 invited guests.
Established in 2006, The Football League Awards celebrates excellence both on and off the pitch. The event attracts players, managers and staff from League clubs as well as sponsors, partners and those wishing to celebrate everything Football League.
The event is the first major football awards of the season, with categories judged by panels of experts from the industry and media. This season will see the prestigious trophies handed out across 17 categories recognising the work that has been done by clubs over the last 12 months:
Football League Awards 2012 categories:
- npower Fan of the Year
- Family Club of the Year
- Best Matchday Programme
- Best Marketing Campaign
- Coca-Cola Community Club of the Year
- Unsung Hero
- PFA Player in the Community
- Outstanding Managerial Achievement
- Mitre Goal of the Year
- Apprentice of the Year (Divisional)
- Young Player of the Year
- npower Players of the Year (Divisional)
- Contribution to League Football
Winners at the Awards 2011 included Adel Taarabt (npower Championship Player of the Year), Dean Furman (Goal of the Year), Middlesbrough (Best Matchday Programme) and Dario Gradi (Contribution to League Football), whilst in previous years the likes of Gareth Bale and Phil Jagielka have picked up awards at the event.
Andy Dodd, Marketing Manager at The Football League said: “The Football League Awards is a night dedicated to recognising the very best players, managers, clubs and fans from across all three divisions. It has become a firm fixture in the football calendar and we are really looking forward to another fantastic night of celebrating success”.
