Clubs Talk Business at Soccerex

Wed 12th Oct 2011 | Football Industry Events

Soccerex are pleased to confirm they will be hosting a commercially focussed Club Workshop at this year’s Global Convention, 26-30 November, Rio de Janeiro.

Bringing together football clubs from around the world, this invite-only workshop has been designed to provide Rights Holders with content dedicated to club business and administration.

Kicking off the workshop, Steve Cumming, Head of Sponsorship at Chelsea FC, Marco Fassone, Managing Director of SSC Napoli, Pablo Fuentes, Marketing Director of Boca Juniors and Joachim Hilke, Chief Marketing Officer of Hamburger SV will take part in a panel discussion which will look at how clubs can build profitable national and international partnerships.

Delegates will subsequently get the chance to learn the latest techniques in maximising ticketing revenue with an exclusive presentation by Barry Kahn, CEO of Qcue, providers of the world's only dynamic pricing engine for live entertainment events.

The last part of the workshop will include a case study by Nicholas MacGowan von Holstein, Commercial Director at Hamburger SV and Chris Park, Deputy Senior Manager at Hanwha on how to build a successful relationship between club and sponsor; this will be followed by Michele Ferraris, Product Manager of Milan Junior at AC Milan discussing licensing programmes at AC Milan. The workshop will be completed with an exclusive networking lunch.

‘Soccerex is not just a stage for business, it is a platform for communication and it is with this in mind that we have created a dedicated Clubs  workshop so Rights Holders from around the world  can share ideas, experiences and advice on best business practice’ says Duncan Revie, CEO, Soccerex.

The Club Workshop is one in a number of workshops being held during this year’s Soccerex Global Convention; other confirmed workshops will provide content from Brazilian host cities, women’s football,  social media, FIFA’s ‘Performance’ programme, security, stadia solutions and components of elite performance.

The workshops compliment a comprehensive seminar line-up in Studio One which includes sessions on brands, agencies, corporate social responsibility, infrastructure and sustainability, the 2014 FIFA World CupTM and one-to-ones and panel debates with some of the game’s biggest names.

In addition to the conference programme, the five day event will include a packed exhibition, numerous networking opportunities and a two day Football Festival, all taking place at the Forte de Copacabana and on the Copacabana beach.
