Huddersfield Town link up with Active Sports
Tue 13th Sep 2011 | Football Sponsorship
Huddersfield Town have announced it has linked up with local nutrition suppliers Active Sports.
The deal will see them become Town's official suppliers of nutritional supplements for the 2011/12 season.
Active Sports, who are based on Red Doles Lane in Huddersfield, will supply the Club with Whey Protein, which is a well-known supplement and used by many sportsmen to help improve muscle recovery following strenuous exercise.
Huddersfield Town's Fitness Coach Tom Little spoke about the effects of the supplement. "Whey Protein aids recovery following exercise. A breakdown of muscles occurs following exercise, which means that the players' muscles lose strength, speed and power. This nutritional supplement has the ingredients to help rebuild muscles at an optimum level.
"Also, the amino acid within the product helps the recovery of the immune system, which can also suffer during exercise."
Active Sports has over 30 years of experience in the sports nutrition business and has been supplying to trade and public for the last decade - making them one of the biggest nutrition companies in Northern England. They offer a large range of sports supplements at very competitive prices.
Little continued: "The Club is delighted to have agreed a deal with Active Sports; personally it will help me aid the players' recovery following games and training. Nutritional supplements have become a big part of football and Active Sports was our first port of call when we decided to go down that route."
He added: "Hopefully, if everything goes well this season then we can extend the deal for another year - as the products are already having a positive effect on the players"
Director of Active Sports Richard King commented: "We are delighted to be associated with one of the premier sport clubs in the local area. Huddersfield Town has a fantastic fan base and excellent links within the community, which should hopefully help us increase our brand profile. We wish Lee Clark and his team all the best for the 2011/12 season"
