Heart of Midlothian fans will be treated to tasty new half-time pies from next season following a major deal between the Tynecastle club and one of Scotland’s leading catering and hospitality companies.
Edinburgh-based Saltire Hospitality is set to expand after netting Heart of Midlothian Football Club as a client in one of its biggest and most prestigious deals to date.
The seven-figure signing, to handle the full catering and hospitality service for the football club from 1 June, cements Saltire’s position as a major player in its sector and signals local jobs and business expansion for Saltire Hospitality. The company will employ the club’s existing corporate hospitality sales team and is also set to take on additional catering staff.
With dozens of events taking place at Tynecastle annually, Saltire will be bringing in the support of its sister company Saltire Patisserie, headed by Master Baker and Tynecastle season ticket holder Ian Blackley, for fresh bespoke bakery and pastry products.
Heart of Midlothian is the latest in a growing portfolio of high profile clients that award-winning Saltire Hospitality has built up since the business launched in 2000. Managing Director, David Peters said: “Heart of Midlothian Football Club is a very prestigious win and allows us to demonstrate the quality of service and produce we deliver.
“This is the first time we have had a full-time sales team based in-house for a client, making it a significant opportunity to develop and expand our services. Taking on responsibility for sales has created a mutually beneficial partnership to encourage more business for both parties.
“I know it’s an honour for my employees to be working alongside the club as many are season ticket holders and I’m also delighted that we’ve now got the perfect arena to showcase our own pies and jam tarts!”
Heart of Midlothian F.C. director, Vitalijus Vasiliauskas, said: “We are delighted to welcome such a prestigious business partner such as Saltire to Tynecastle. It is one of the leading lights in its field and we are confident this partnership is a recipe for success.
“Our supporters will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of this mouth-watering link-up not only on match days but throughout the season as well at the various events staged at the stadium.
“It is also important to note that the agreement will benefit the local economy by helping secure a number of local jobs.”
